The Quakers were a group of Protestant dissenters. They were persecuted by the Puritans because the Quakers thought believed that god could be known directly through an "inner light." The Quakers also believed that woman should be treated like men, and they could be preachers. These reasons angered the Puritans and the Quakers got whipped or banished because Quakers threatened the foundations of New England.

They would prey, but they would shake at the same time, and the puritans didn't believe of doing it that way.

When the Quakers would pray, they would shake. People would say it sounded like earthquakes in their church. The Puritans believed that you should be quiet when you pray. They were jailed and banished. The England didnt like the though of women are equal to men, like the quakers.

The quakers were a religion. they are named 'quakers' because they shake when they pray. The puritans persecuted them because they believed they were wrong praying like that and allowed women to be equal

Quakers believed that women should be treated like men. Quaker women served as preachers and as missionaries. Puritans began executing Quakers who returned after being banished.

The Quakers were a religious group that believed they should "tremble at the word of the Lord". They also believed God could be known directly through an "inner light". They also believed that women were spiritually equal to men. These beliefs angered the Puritans. For angering them, the Quakers were jailed, whipped, or banished from Puritan colonies.
