The puritans and dissenters wanted to leave England because they disagreed with the English church. The difference between a puritan and a dissenter is that a puritan didn't want to change the English church, but "purify" it and its beliefs and ways.

They wanted to leave England because they weren't free. They couldn't be whatever religion they wanted to be. A puritan is a person who was a part of the group that reformed the church of England. A dissenter is part of a non-established church.

Puritans are people who wanted to purify church of England and if they were rejected, they established their religion in another country or another location. Dissenters are the people who wanted to break off of the Church of England and then got what they wanted.

They wanted to leave because they didn't agree with the church. They weren't free. The differance between a puritan & a decesnator is the puritan didn't want to change at all.
